Lychnis fulgens Fisch. ex Sims
A perennial rhizomatous plant 60 cm high. Stems are straight. Leaves are oblong-ovate, light green. Flowers are snow-white, 4-5 cm in diameter, with four-part petals, which are collected in corymbose-capitate inflorescences.
Blooms from July to the end of August for 30-35 days. After flowering, faded inflorescences are removed.
The plant is unpretentious, winter-hardy, prefers open sunny places, leafy moist soil with an admixture of sand, does not tolerate stagnant water.
In autumn or early spring, fertilize with organic fertilizers, digging them into the soil. Seeds are sown for seedlings in March, at a temperature of 18-20 ° C, shoots appear in 1-2 weeks, which are pricked out into boxes. Plant in the ground in May at a distance of 30 cm. It can also be sown in open ground in April - May, but in this case flowering will occur only in the following season.
